  • Apple Gets 64,000 MacBook Orders from Maine State Government

Maine is the only state in the USA that provides laptops to every public school students. As part of the decision taken by state Department of Education, Maine state government has recently ordered 64,000 Apple MacBook laptops which will be distributed among the public school students and teachers. Reports also have it that the state is also going to order 7,000 MacBooks in the weeks to come and it seems that Apple MacBook has got a huge boost up after bagging the lucrative order.

Maine state government wants to expand the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, and the recent amount of order is part of that initiative. Technology has become a part and parcel and there is no other way to find an alternative for computer technology these days. So, I think, Maine state government has taken the right decision and this could lead other states to follow the same footstep of Maine government.

For Apple, it would like to keep getting orders in this way from Maine government, while other big companies like Dell and HP should also take the matter seriously because Apple has already made a big step in Maine. Now, if other states think the way Maine government is thinking, it could open up a big market for the laptop makers and Apple already has a strong position here. So, I think, the time has come other laptop makers like Dell and HP focus on this market too.
