Dell has launched its Studio 14z laptop targeting the student users. It is thin and light compared to the other 14-inch laptops, and thus, making it an easy-to-carry machine that students would like to have. Weighed at 4.5 pounds, the laptop features LED display and 500GB of storage that differentiate the machine from the 13-inch models. Dell terms it as a machine which students would like to use as a homework-busting laptop in daytime, while it will be used as an entertainment laptop at night as the laptop features Nvidia GeForce 9400 GPU alongside 1080p HD video playback.

The only problem is that the laptop does not offer any optical drive. Still, Dell Studio 14z laptop seems to be an attractive machine in terms of its $649 price tag. The laptop is available in a number of colors including Black Chain Link, Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Plum Purple, Ruby Red and Promise Pink.
