Acer A1: First Android Based Smartphone from Acer
No CommentsAcer is going to launch its first ever smartphone titled ‘Acer A1’ which is based on Google Android operating system. Acer earlier announced that the company would release two Andriod smartphones in 2009 and Acer A1 is the first of those two phones which is expected to hit the market in September. Detailed specifications of Acer A1 have not been officially announced yet, but it has been confirmed that Acer A1 will feature a touchscreen. Moreover, it is also expected to offer standard software in which there will be quality web browser and application. Acer is expected to feature the smartphone for a low price.
Acer is widely-known for its laptops and netbooks. Now, Acer is pretty much focused to enter into smartphone market. Acer president Gianfranco Lanci has recently said that the day is not far away when Acer smartphones will be account for about 10% of company’s total revenue. To achieve this goal, Acer is also making mobile phones based on Windows Mobile operating system. In fact, four Windows based smartphones from Acer are already available in the market.
