  • Half Million Intel Classmate PCs for Portugal’s Students

There is tough competition between Intel’s Classmate PCs and OLPCs. OLPC founders started their project to make a very cheap laptop so that, children of third world countries could get the blessing of modern technology. Intel also came to this market with its Classmate PC. Both of them are trying to attract governments of different countries in order to increase their market share. Of course, increasing market share is very important to Intel because it is a for-profit company. Now it seems that Intel has got an important contract for its Classmate PC. Intel recently signed a contract with the Portuguese government for supplying 500,000 laptops for the school children.
