  • Laptop Hinge Maker Shin Zu Shing Expecting 26 Percent Up in its 2008 Sales

    World’s largest maker of hinges for laptop computers, Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd. of Taiwan is expecting 26 percent growth in its hinges shipment this year. Last year, the company 95 million hinges, while this year it could reach up to 120 million hinges which is being expected by the company. What is the reason behind such optimistic forecast?

    Well, the popularity and demand of laptop PCs are increasing across the world thanks to increasing number of low cost laptop computer available in the global market. Chief Financial Officer of the company, Charles Juan thinks that the company will be achieving market share which could go up to 55-60 percent this year. So, it seems that Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd. is expecting a tremendous success in 2008, which is very logical too.

    Reuters reported:

    “Notebooks have really become a commodity,” he said. “Everyone wants a notebook these days.”

    The company’s forecast was similar to those from market research firm IDC and Quanta Computer (2382.TW: Quote, Profile, Research), the world’s top contract laptop PC maker.

    Juan said he expects his company to keep gaining market share this year, taking 55-60 percent in 2008 compared with 53 percent last year and 37 percent in 2006.

    Some of the top global laptop makers like Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Sony Corp are in the dealers’ list of Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd. So, you can understand the strength of the company in the market. It seems that the company is growing well and having good success in the market. Now, let us see if the company can reach its goal in 2008 by selling 120 million hinges in the world market.
